But what veterans day is really about is the guys that didn't make it back...This is Rob Stanley, one of my best friends from high school, we all joined the Army after. His Humvee got hit by an IED in '07, he crawled clear of the vehicle and refused medical attention, ordered the evac team to get his soldiers first. Then when the med team got to him, the hadjis detonated a secondary explosive and killed him and the guys trying to save him... I've literally never known a better guy, and if he was still around I'd say the same thing...
RIP Brother, see you when I get there.
