Steve's Pan

Steve is a friend of the blog, most of us have had the chance to hang out with him through various events this summer. Totally modest guy and he also happens to have one of the hottest bikes on the east coast (in my mind). Lots of subtle details, all the good vintage parts you'd dream about having on your old bike... and its featured in this months Cycle Source, so go pic up a copy. Some previews from the mag shoot, photos by Jordan Meredith. Congrats!!!

Lee Bender FUCK MS shirt update #2

For all of you that have sent us an email, or didn't read the last update, please read this one...the window has officially closed for ordering one of these shirts. We started printing them today and they should be sent out starting in the middle of the week, as Tim stated in update #1. We did it this way because this was a benefit jam, and we didn't want to overprint a bunch of shirts and possibly negate the cost savings we will be passing on to Lee in the form of donations. If you missed the boat, sorry.

SUMMARY: Shirts being printed...look badass...shipping out starting Wednesday or Thursday...Fuck MS!

Finger Food Friday...Loss of a Brother

Hey all you wierdos, freaks, and lurkers. Fingers at the keys, so it must be that time agian...time to share my life and times on this big blue planet.

Well, first let me say i got a call on Thursday at about 8:oo pm, from a long time brother lumpy. You remember him from the great Tony Balgone ass story... Lumpy called to tell me that another long time brother, Mark Mccluskey is dead. What the fuck man...I've known Mark since jr.high school. He was a big son of a bitch, about 6'7", 270 lbs. Mark always rode a k model sporty in high sckool, and later a Triumph chopper that i did a bunch of work on. What Mark really loved was getting loaded, and for awile in the mid 80's we hung tight. Cocaine and vodka trips every weekend are the times i remember...like it was yesterday. Mark t-boned a jeep last year on his evo chopper. Shortly after that, Fudd blew his brains out with a 50 cal. black powder pistol right the fuck in front of Mark. At the time, Mark and Fudd were battling a long addiction to herion. Fudd lost, but Mark saw the light and cleaned himself up. That's what pisses me off...I just talked to him on wednesday. We bullshitted about getting his chop back up. wtf......

I've lost a lot of brothers in this life and dont know if i could even fit them all into one Finger Food Friday post, but when somebody is coming back from being down for so long its a tough one to handle. I ask myself a lot lately "what else is there?" I've rode it, broke it, fixed it, and even built it. Fuck-an-A man, I bleed on them...what's left? Got to be more. I always need more. Mark is with Fudd agian, the rotten two running amuck in a place we will be one day. As for me, I'm not done pisssing people off yet. Though i think of it often, death sucks. I just wrote last week "DEATH ONLY CLOSES A MANS REPUTATION AND DETERMINES IT GOOD OR BAD". Mark and Fudd had good ones to me, and that is all that counts for me.........

With Mark's passing, I am reminded of the night I got my nose and jaw broke, thanks to to him. So, its like 1978, and winter in the great city of Buffalo with about 2 feet of snow on the ground. Me Mark and Tony Sacco, another lunatic, are in south Buffalo looking for some dope. Not a kool place to be in those years, since they didn't like any of us from west Seneca ("fisher court", our neighborhood). Any fucking way, we score some pot from the hippies in south Buffalo. Before the black people started selling dope, you used to go find hippies. Man things really changed. So we're almost out of dodge when we come to a stoplight, and the car in front of is stuck in what the plow truck just left behind. That  was all it took to piss Mark right the fuck off, so he starts sceaming at the driver who turns out to be a chick. So now its "come on you stupid cunt, drive!". I tell Tony, who's driving, to just go around the dumb bitch. So of course, without looking, Tony smashes into the car behind us. That just happened to be a car load of (yep you guessed it) south Buffalo boys. In my life, things go from good, to bad, real fast. So this was no different scene. Well, Mark's attention now was directed to the rear of the Olds 88, where he now was in a sceaming match with the passenger. He jumps out, only to be followed by the word "FUCK"! I new that wasn't good. Tony jumps out and I never made it out the door. As I was about to get out and join in the festivites, some motherfucker smashes me in the face with a tire iron. I'm out cold... The next thing I know, some stupid cop is arresting me. I have no clue what happened...I was just waking up. Tony suffered a broken arm, Mark got a broken nose, and I got my jaw, nose, and eye socket broken... all thanks to Mark's big mouth. After a couple of weeks, a bunch of us went to thier sckool and got them in history class.

Mark my brother, we will get that evo chopper back together! MARK'S LAST RIDE... I miss you my brother.

P.S. Keep your mouth shut up there and tell Fudd,Dave Schicktil, Johnny Rayn,Hugo,Whitey,Spaceman, Big Al,Booster,Bradly da polisher,Nutcase,Wierd,Big Bob,and all of our brothers I said "hello". You are all in my thoughts.........make sure I'm on the guest list, alright.................

A sad day in Fingers' world...

Injun Wayne...

So while I was out living Knuckle chopper glory in NYC, Wayne was out putting in some work, drinking RedBull from a hose and generally kicking the worlds ass... Scored this 48 Pan Basket case for a steal of a price in Kansas...

Then turned around and drove to Mass and got this pre-war Indian scout for a steal of a price too... And this baby is loaded to the hilt with the most insane farm fixes and jury rigs that I've ever seen on a motorcycle. Its so wrong that its so right...
How do you fit an Indian into a station wagon?... something like this...

After 24 hours in the car, the beast is loose!

OG Speedo and Amp gauges, crazy mounts...

Car generator mounted with 'custom' pulley setup...

Sick old blown glass shifter knob...

Anyones grandmas porch door missing its springs? Here they are...

And a shot of his beautiful old paint 1940 Indian 4... amazing machine...

Right now, we're thinking that 48 Basket may become a period correct bobber to use the over used term, but its cool, this one will be right as rain. Anyone have a spare '48 motor laying around???
Stay tuned...

Need an east coast motor builder...

If anybody who pays attention to this crappy little blog is an experienced motor builder, or knows a good builder, please let me know. I've got a 1972 Ironhead motor I need built from the cases up. I have everything needed as far as parts and pieces go, much of it new...just need somebody experienced to put it together. I am down to pay in cash, but cash and partial trade would be killer. Either way, I need to get it done. hit me up: matt@deathscience.com

Thanks!

Just for the LADIES......

I'm going on a roadie..... NC to Chicago and then out to Albequerque.... if any of you ladies wanna buy me a beer or put me up for the night (going along I-40 the whole way)..... hit me up tim at deathscience dot com.................

Just sayin'.................

Seriously, while I'm out you guys will be in good hands till I get back with tales of glory, pan/shovel dreams and retarded stripper memories next week.

Later.

Knuckle

So last week was completely insane, I started really working on the bike on Sunday to get it going for the show. The plan was to roll up to Baltimore Thursday evening and meet up with the crew there and head up to Philly and then on to Brooklyn the next morning. Probably got less than 20 hours of sleep the whole week. Finished getting it together and couldn't get it started, ended up calling it a wrap late Thursday night and loaded it in the truck at 2:30 in the morning. Got to Baltimore at 5:30 and loaded it in the chase truck.

Got up to Vanders shop and started again, couldn't get it going. Threw in the towel and rolled out to the Dice party and crashed at Vanders.

The next morning we head back the the shop, and Midnight Mike (who owns Midnight Cycle in Jersey, go there if you need work) meets us over at the shop and we pull the bike around the block with his Shovel, almost wipe out a couple times and finally get her started. Got all the timing worked out rode it around the block a couple times and roll out for the show.

Went from this...

To this
In about a week and it runs like a raped ape.

Special thanks to InjunWayne and Dawn for all your help, time, and keeping an eye on my kiddos and puppy dog while we worked around the clock on this thing, Midnight Mike for all your help with making it run and Vander for the carb, use of your shop and letting me crash, and everyone else who helped out at Vanders trying to get this thing sorted out...

Welcome aboard Kyle!

We've recruited our Baltimore brother OK Kyle to be the newest member of the Death Science crew! Kyle is already like family, as is the case with the rest of our Baltimore friends. For those that know him, you know he's down like four flat tires, would do anything to help out one of his friends, and is always up for a good time. As the East Coast continues to strengthen it's chopper culture, look for more good things to come from our family, and FOTS, HOTW, Cut Rate...

not on our watch

Ride to Brooklyn...

So after working on the Knuck for a week straight with basically no sleep, I had to truck the bike it up to Baltimore and met up with the MD crew and we rolled up to Philly and headed to Brooklyn for Vanders shop opening party, the Dice release and Brooklyn Invitational... Riding in the back of the truck let me get some pretty sweet pics from the road...
